I'm not a big Christmas fan but I will be posting my Christmas Guitar. If my guitar could talk like all of us, not thru my fingers, she would probably ask me to take the hat off, mainly because it is ugly looking and shapes the head into a cone which I'm sure you would find very unattractive. Not only is Christmas unattractive but also meaningless the way we are celebrating Christmas nowadays, a justification to only acquire unnecessary material things in pursue of happiness. It involves increased economic activity and a significant key sales period for many retailers and businesses worldwide.
Being a music lover, I personally think Christmas music is crap.
I kind of miss the way Christmas time felt when I was a kid. I once loved Christmas because of the food, the lights, the socializing, the religious importance my family seem to display and of course the gifts. However, Christmas has become nothing but this monster and in my opinion Christmas programming reinforces commercialism.
Here are some of the other reasons why I'm not a big fan of Christmas
The cultivation of Christmas trees, reduces the use of arable land
Writing and mailing cards to people you ignore the rest of the year
Rates of depression and suicide spike during the holidays
Gift exchange and forced giving which pumps up consumption
Christmas destroys the environment and promotes animals killing
Christmas promotes absenteeism at work and reduces labor productivity
December is a peak month for robberies
Christmas is one of the most important contributors to obesity and drinking
Here are some facts about Christmas you need to know
1 in 10 presents will be broken by New Year's day
7 in 10 dogs receive a gift
How about you help the homeless person you see lying down on the sidewalk? That is a good way to celebrate Christmas any day of the year!

So you think you can play?
Although I have many friends, very few of them really know I can play the guitar. I started when I was about 9 years old, holding my cousin's guitar, who by the way, was a self-taught talented musician as well as his twin brother. Little did I know, that this simple yet complicated instrument would be used as an extension of my body to compensate for my inability to express my feelings. Yet I'm glad I was that shy little boy that I was otherwise I would have never been able to cope with the frustrating lessons both my cousins taught me. My fingers were too small and I could hardly hold the guitar yet I strummed my first chord. I really thank my cousins for everything I have accomplished so far in life. They taught me to focus, to be constant, to be persistent, to be dedicated during these lessons and I have applied these principles to practically everything I have done. One of my cousins passed away while in his twenties yet he is with me with every chord and every lesson I now teach.
So you think you can play the guitar?
You'll get yours and I'll get mine.
From one music lover to another, enjoy !
